The AI Guide, formerly AI Gateway, is a plain text copy of your website that Sophyx builds and hosts on your own subdomain, such as llms.yourbrand.com. Each page is published as Markdown for AI and clean HTML for search engines, along with llms.txt, robots.txt, a sitemap and JSON-LD labels for your facts. AI assistants then have clear, current facts about your business to quote.
Why does my website even need a machine-readable replica?
More customers ask AI instead of browsing, and AI reads the text on your site, not the design. If that text is buried in code or clutter, the AI may quote a competitor whose site is easier to read. The replica gives AI your facts in the formats it reads best.
What's actually inside the .md and .html replica?
Every page of your site gets two versions. The .md file is Markdown: plain text with simple headings and lists that AI reads easily. The .html file is clean HTML with no scripts, proper headings and JSON-LD labels. Both are built from the same source and published together at llms.yourbrand.com.
Will my main website still matter?

How long until AI engines start citing me?

What if my AI Guide gets something wrong about my business?
You fix it inside Sophyx. Your AI Guide is written from your brand memory, so the AI Guide page in Sophyx has a card called Something wrong or missing? with a Fix it in Personalization button. It opens Personalization with the current memory AI is using, so you can read what Sophyx writes from. Add a note, PDF or link with the right facts, and delete any source that is out of date. A source cannot be edited in place yet, so to change one you delete it and add the new version. Then rebuild your AI Guide to publish the fix. Your phone, email, address and hours live in Contact details in your settings.
How long does a fix take to show up in AI answers?
Sophyx saves your change right away and rebuilds your memory in about a minute. If it has not updated, click Refresh in Personalization. Your AI Guide pages are rebuilt every Monday, or as soon as you rebuild them yourself. ChatGPT, Gemini and other assistants pick up the change when they next read your pages. Sophyx does not control when that happens. It is often days, and it can take weeks. Sophyx tracks ChatGPT and Gemini (including Google AI Overviews), so you can see when the answer changes.
Why .md and .html, why both?
AI assistants such as ChatGPT, Claude and Gemini read Markdown most reliably, because much of what they learned from was written that way. Crawlers such as Googlebot, Bingbot and GPTBot read HTML well and pick up more labels from it. Publishing both from one source covers both.
How does the AI Guide relate to AEO and GEO?

What does setup actually look like?

Can I bring my own domain or only subdomains?
Subdomains for now, such as llms.yourbrand.com or ai.yourbrand.com. That keeps your AI Guide separate from your main site while it stays on your own domain. Support for root domains is on the roadmap.
