How do I get ChatGPT to recommend my business?
ChatGPT recommends the businesses it can find clear, matching facts about. It looks for a page that says what you do, where and for whom, plus reviews and listings on other sites that agree. Make those facts easy to find and the same everywhere, and you give ChatGPT a reason to name you.

Why does ChatGPT recommend my competitor?
When a customer asks ChatGPT who to call, it searches, reads a few pages, and names two or three businesses. It can only name businesses it found, and it prefers the ones whose pages match the question.
A competitor gets named when their site has a page for that exact service, their reviews mention it, and a local “best of” list includes them. Each source tells the same story. Many voices, one story: that agreement is what makes ChatGPT confident.
You get skipped when your site says “we do it all”, your hours differ between Google and Yelp, or you are missing from the lists ChatGPT reads. Your business can be the best in town, and the web still describes it too vaguely to recommend.
What you can do yourself
Ask ChatGPT what it knows
Ask “What do you know about [your business] in [your town]?” and “Who is the best [service] in [your town]?” Note what is wrong, missing or out of date.
Make one page per service
Each page should name the service, the town or area, who it is for, a price or price range, and how to book. “Sports physio for runners on Harbour Street” gives ChatGPT far more to match than “Our services”.
Fix your listings
Your Google Business Profile, Bing Places, Apple Business Connect, Yelp and the directories in your trade should show the same name, address, phone, hours and services.
Get reviews that say what you did
Ask customers to mention the service and the problem in their review, like “fixed my knee pain before the marathon”. Specific reviews match specific questions.
Get on the lists
Find the “best of” articles and local guides ChatGPT lists as sources for your service. Ask to be included, and check your details there are right.
Ask again in a month
Repeat the same questions and compare. Write down which sources ChatGPT lists, because those are the sites worth your time.
Example
Two physio clinics on Harbour Street, both made up. Northgate Physio has a page called “Running injury physio”, reviews from runners, and a spot on a local news site's list of physios. Harbour Physio has one “Services” page and the wrong Saturday hours on Yelp. When someone asks ChatGPT for a physio for a running injury near Harbour Street, it finds plenty about Northgate and very little about Harbour Physio.
How Sophyx helps
Sophyx asks ChatGPT and Gemini the questions your customers ask, like “best physio near me for a running injury”, and shows who gets recommended and what is said about you.
When an answer is wrong or leaves you out, Sophyx writes the fix: a clear page for that service, corrected facts, and labels that tell machines what you offer. You approve it, and it goes live on your own domain. It can also publish your booking details in a form AI assistants can use.
